Security Evaluation

1. Device Security

Criterion	Value	Proof	Comment
Known hardware tampering	None	—
Known vulnerabilities	Very common	🔗 Proof	affected by Stagefright and other old Android vulnerabilities
Prior attacks	None	—	no evidence of being used in botnets or widespread prior attacks
Updatability	None	🔗 Proof	EOL. No updates since mid-2010s
Category Score	Score: 2 / 3

2. System Security

Criterion	Value	Proof	Comment
Authentication with other systems	Partial	—	requires authentication for many connections but allows some open ones
Communications	Encrypted with obselete encryption	—	supports TLS but limited to older versions on Android 4.4; Bluetooth 4.0 with basic security
Storage	Encrypted with obselete encryption	—	available but uses outdated standards
Category Score	Score: 2 / 3

3. User Authentication

Criterion	Value	Proof	Comment
Account management	Full	—	managed via Google account
Authentication	Basic	—	pattern / PIN / password
Brute-force protection	Basic	—	older Android has delay after failed attempts, but limited
Event logging	Partial logging	—	basic system logging available
Passwords	Require change after setup with complexity requirements	—	users set screen lock during setup; supports complexity for PIN/password
Category Score	Score: 2 / 3
