The decisive security event is the publicly demonstrated bootloader unlock by @realMlgmXyysd and others weeks after launch, achieved without Xiaomi’s official procedure and reportedly exploiting an unpatched security vulnerability. Xiaomi is expected to patch the flaw in a future HyperOS update, but as of the classification date, the bypass is live and publicly documented. Updatability = Very common reflects Xiaomi’s commitment to 4 major Android generations (up to Android 21). Authentication = Secure is supported by the 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. The device also features a hardware-level Privacy Display and a 2.7-inch rear display, but these are usability/privacy features rather than security classification factors.
